FAQ

1. Are electronic cigarettes safe?

E-liquid used in electronic cigarettes usually has 4 main ingredients. Water, Propylene Glycol or Vegetable Glycerin, nicotine and flavorings. You can read about Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin from the links below. Most companies use food-grade flavorings that are very safe and they usually make a low % of the e-liquid content. And then there is nicotine. Nicotine is toxic in it’s pure form but in small doses it’s comparable to caffeine and other similar stimulants. Nicotine is not the ingredient that kills smokers. Nicotine is what makes us addicted. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propylene_glycol and http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-vegetable-glycerin.htm

2. What nicotine strength is the best for me?

That depends on many things. Mostly how much are you used to smoking. We suggest keeping the strength as low as you can and just keep puffing your e-cigarette enough to get the dose you need. Smoking is a habit as much as an addiction and most of us get a lot of satisfaction from the act of smoking itself. Keeping the strength low may result in using your e-cigarette more but if you love the habit itself, this might be a good thing as you can just puff away and still have a very low risk of getting too much nicotine. Note that this advice is based only on personal opinion and you should check the manufacturer’s faq and/or internet forums to get actual recommendations of the strength.

3. Are there any side effects from using an electronic cigarette?

Some people are allergic to propylene glycol and this may cause some problems. Changing to VG liquid will take care of that. There are some minor things some users experience, like dry skin and the so called “quit zits” but in most cases all side effects are mild and will go away on their own very fast. However, if the symptoms are bad, it is advised to stop using e-cigarette and seek medical advice.

4. Is vaping really cheaper than smoking?

That of course depends on things like how expensive the cigarettes are in your country and how much you smoke. But in pretty much every country where cigarettes cost a lot you will save a lot of money when you change analog cigarettes to an e-cigarette.

5. What is the best electronic cigarette?

We think it’s a matter of opinion of course, but we have a few good ones listed on this site. We will only add e-cigarette stores that we like and trust. Everything here is of course  based on our own opinion and some people may disagree with us, but we strongly  recommend our top pick, V2. Most of us find the best one for us sooner or later.
